Rugby: Brave Blossoms to play Wales in Cardiff in Nov.
TOKYO, Jan. 25, Kyodo
The Japan Rugby Football Union announced Monday that the Brave Blossoms will play Wales on Nov. 19 in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium.
The game will be the 14th between the two nations dating back to 1973, with Japan having won just once, in June 2013, when they beat a Welsh side missing a number of players who were touring with the British and Irish Lions.
Wales coach Warren Gatland said on the Welsh Rugby Union web site that the game, along with fixtures against Australia, Argentina and South Africa "will be about testing ourselves against the best sides in the world."
The New Zealander added that "with Japan now completing the fixture line-up for 2016, we have four teams from World Rugby's Top 10 coming to the Principality Stadium in November."
Japan host Scotland in a two-test series in June, but will be without new coach Jamie Joseph, who will remain with the Highlanders until August.
Details of other autumn tests will be announced at a later date, a spokesman for the JRFU said.
