Popular Japanese comedian hits pedestrian in car accident

TOKYO, Dec. 30, Kyodo

Popular Japanese comedian Takashi Okamura hit a pedestrian on Thursday while driving a passenger car in central Tokyo, slightly injuring the man, police said Friday.

Okamura, 46, hit the man, who is in 60s, on a crosswalk when he was making a right turn at an intersection in Minato Ward late Thursday afternoon, the police said Friday. The man suffered a bruised arm.

Okamura is one half of the comic duo Ninety-Nine.
